Round 3 Rockets-Lakers Shifts To Houston

By  |

HOUSTON -- Round 3 might be a more fitting label than Game 3 when the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets meet tomorrow night in the Western Conference semifinal series.

The Lakers' Derek Fisher and Orlando's Rafer Alston have been
suspended for one game by the NBA for separate incidents in the
game last night.

A total of five technical fouls were called in Los Angeles'
testy 111-98 victory that evened the series at 1-1.

The league opted not to suspend the Lakers' Kobe Bryant for
elbowing Houston Ron Artest during their testy playoff game. The
NBA ruled that Artest got elbowed in the chest and not the head,
which would have led to Bryant's suspension.

Artest was disappointed with the ruling on Bryant, saying NBA
executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson
should look at the replay again.

So what's in store for Game 3?

Shane Battier has guarded Bryant for most of the series. Battier expects both teams to tone down the unnecessary roughness, because the referees will try to take immediate control.
