BRYAN -- The excitement of an early lead quickly faded to a third straight loss for the Brazos Valley Bombers 13-9 tonight against Texas Collegiate League leading East Texas.
In front of a sell out crowd the Bombers grabbed a 3-0 first inning lead on RBI singles by Nick Anders and Alan Harris.
Up 4-1 in the third Joaquin Hinojosa hit a two-run homer, his second of the season, to give the Bombers their big lead at 6-1.
However, it would not last. The Pumpjacks scored the next eight runs to take a 9-6 lead. Clifton Thomas drove in two with a single in the in the bottom of the eights to get the Bombers back within a run, but East Texas scored four insurance runs in the top of the 9th to put it away.
The Bombers are back in action Saturday in a 5:05 p.m. first pitch against the Pumpjacks.
