Over 700 people piled into the Arctic Wolf Ice Center on Sunday to get a first hand look at indoor football in College Station. After a slow first half, both teams took to the air in the Hurricanes' first game in the Brazos Valley.

Former Blinn and Kansas State quarterback Micheal Bishop was scheduled to start for the Hurricanes, but due to a death in the family, the former Heisman hopeful was unable to make it to the game.

Backup quarterback Kendrick Cheneau threw three touchdown passes, all in the 2nd half. But it wasn't enough for the Hurricanes who came up short 44-30.

Texas falls to 1-7 with only two games remaining in the season, but still have a shot at making the SIFL playoffs.

One thing is for sure. If the Texas Hurricanes can maintain popularity, things just might work out for the Southern Indoor Football League here in the Brazos Valley.

After announcing their plans to move to B/CS just two weeks ago, it's been a whirlwind adventure for Hurricanes owner Terry Williams.

Now with another game scheduled for Tuesday night, expect another whirlwind before taking on the Austin Turfcats in game 2 of the Texas Hurricanes tenure in College Station
