Day One Complete At 7-on-7 State Tournament
Two-time champion Celina has swept its pool and advanced to the Division II championship bracket at the 7-on-7 state championship.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Two-time champion Celina has swept
its pool and advanced to the Division II championship bracket at
the 7-on-7 state championship.

Celina scored 137 points in three games in the Class 3A-2A-1A
competition.

Navasota, one of seven teams unbeaten after the opening day of
play, edged Abilene Wylie, 20-15 for its third win of the day.
Navasota quarterback Kye Hildeth threw four touchdown passes to
Tevin Creeks in the Rattlers' opening 46-21 win over Palestine
Westwood.

Snyder, Glen Rose, Gatesville, Brownwood and Burnet also were
unbeaten.

Sixteen teams remain in contention for the championship. The
other 16 will play in the consolation bracket Friday, when Division
I (Class 5A-4A) also opens pool play.

Navasota will face Hitchcock Friday morning at 8:00am in Championship bracket play.

Cameron wrapped up pool play 2 - 1 to advance to the Championship bracket. Cameron will take on Gatesville Friday morning at 8:00am.

Rockdale also advanced to the Championship bracket. The Tigers were 2 - 1 in pool play. Rockdale will face Brownwood Friday morning at 8:00am.

After finishing 1 - 2 in poll play McGregor earned a spot in the Consolation bracket. McGregor will face Lago Vista Friday morning at 8:00am.

The West Trojans will play Palestine Westwood Friday morning at 8:00am in the Consolation bracket.
