COLLEGE STATION, Texas—Texas A&M football players went through various drills and individual workouts for 20 NFL football teams on Saturday inside Netum Steed and the new McFerrin Athletic Facility.
The 10 players included nine seniors and one junior, defensive lineman Jason Jack. The seniors included defensive back Melvin Bullitt, running back Brandon Leone, running back Courtney Lewis, placekicker Layne Neumann, defensive lineman Bryce Reed, wide receiver L’Tydrick Riley, wide receiver Chad Schroeder, defensive lineman Marques Thornton and linebacker Justin Warren.
The top vertical jump was turned in by Bullitt with a 40.5 leap with Warren and Schroeder each posting a 35-inch jump.
Bullitt’s standing long jump was 10-5 with Schroeder behind him at 9-11.
Reed turned in the most reps in the 225-pound bench press with 28 reps and Jack was second with 21.
Schroeder posted the fastest 40-time with a 4.50 clocking from the pro scouts with Bullitt right behind him with a 4.51 time.
Bullitt turned in the top time in the 20-yard shuttle with a 3.97 mark and Schroeder posted a 4.09.
The L-drill was led by Schroeder with a 6.80 followed by Bullitt with a 6.95 time.
Bullitt turned in the top time in the 60-yard shuttle with a 10.86 clocking followed by Courtney Lewis with a 11.45 time.
The 2007 Aggie football team will conduct their Night of Champions in G. Rollie White on Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. The squad will begin spring workouts on Tuesday, Mar. 20.
