HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Chris Daniels scored 20 points as Texas A&M Corpus Christi captured the Southland Conference regular-season title by beating Sam Houston State 85-to-68.
Kevin Menifee added 18 points and Taurean Mitchell had 13 for
the Islanders. A-and-M Corpus Christi became a conference member
this season after the program spent its first seven playing as an
independent.
With the win, the Islanders (23-6, 14-2 Southland Conference)
avenged an 84-79 loss to Sam Houston State (21-9, 13-3) earlier
this season.
Sam Houston State's Aaron Wade had 18 points.
