CORPUS CHRISTI -- Bearkat seniors Erica Parker and Kendall Homesley closed out their college careers on high notes as each scored in double figures to lead Sam Houston State in a 90-73 loss at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday.
The game completes the 2006-07 schedule for the Sam Houston State women who did not qualify for the conference tournament. The Bearkats end up 5-24 for the season and 2-14 in Southland Conference place.
Parker scored 17 points, going 4-for-16 from the field with two three point baskets and 7-of-10 from the line. Parker also led the team with seven rebounds.
Homelsey was 5-of-11, all from three point range, for 15 points.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (14-15, SLC 9-7) was led by Nicole Duncan with 28 points. Jillianne Duffey added 22.
The Islanders shot 47.7 percent from the floor (31-of-65) while the Kats hit just 33.8 percent (22-of-65).
