COLLEGE STATION -- Eight members of the Texas A&M men’s tennis team will compete at the 2009 D’Novo/ITA Men’s All-American Championships hosted by the University of Tulsa on Oct. 3-11 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.

Junior All-American Austin Krajicek (Brandon, Fla.), ranked No. 30 nationally in the preseason ITA rankings, will be among the top collegiate players to headline the main draw of singles beginning on Oct. 8. He and junior Alexey Grigorov (Moscow, Russia), ranked No. 19 nationally, will also take part in the main draw of doubles.

Additionally, junior Jeff Dadamo (Tampa, Fla.), a transfer from Florida, and Grigorov will compete in the qualifying singles draw beginning on Oct. 5, while five other Aggies are scheduled to participate in prequalifying singles including senior Marcus Lunt (San Antonio, Texas), junior Kayvon Karimi (Dallas, Texas), sophomore Colin Hoover (Victoria, Texas), sophomore John Lewis (Birmingham, Ala.), a transfer from Alabama, and freshman Alberto Bautista (McAllen, Texas). Dadamo and Lunt are also entered in the qualifying doubles draw.

“We were able to watch and analyze our players last weekend at the Baylor Intercollegiate Invitational,” Texas A&M head coach Steve Denton said. “We saw some areas we needed to address with each individual player and made some tactical adjustments in preparation for this week’s ITA All-American. We also spent a lot of time working on our doubles and finding the right combinations. Overall, Coach (Bob) McKinley and I are pleased with the progress our returning players and newcomers have shown thus far in the fall.”

Krajicek and Klegou Travel To Sacramento Challenger…Austin Krajicek and sophomore Alexis Klegou (Dunkerque, France) will travel to northern California to contend with some of the world’s best in the Swanston ATP Tour Challenger to be held on Oct. 4-12 at the Sutter Lawn Tennis Club in Sacramento, Calif. Krajicek and Klegou are both competing as amateurs on the USTA Pro Circuit.
