Adah Wells Of Sam Houston State Named To All Southland Conference Women's Squad

HUNTSVILLE -- Adah Wells, Sam Houston State's 6-1junior post player from Converse Judson, has been selected honorable mention on the 2007 All-Southland Conference women's basketball honor squad.

The 25 members of the All-Southland Conference team are selected by vote of the league's head coach and sports information directors.

Wells is the first Bearkat women's basketball player to be named to the team since Stacy Allen and Alice Jefferson were selected in 2003.

Wells averaged 6.8 points and 5.6 rebounds, scoring in double figures in six games this year including 23 points at Central Arkansas and 22 points in a 77-66 victory over Northwestern State. Following those two games, Wells became the first Bearkat player since 2004 to earn Southland Conference "Player of the Week" honors.
