Russell Leads Tigers To "Big Red Classic" Golf Championship

SALADO -- The A&M Consolidated boys golf team won the 36 hole Salado "Big Red Classic" Golf Tournament today led by Jordan Russell who took home the medalist title with a 2 over par total of 146.

The Tigers lead the tournament after a 303 opening round played at the Wildflower Country Club, and backed that up with a 316 at the Mill Creek Country Club.

A&M Consolidated beat 2nd place Georgetown by 13 strokes. Bryan came in 9th, 81 strokes behind their crosstown rivals.

Bryan's top scorer was David Buchheit who shot 80-83 for a 163 which is 19 over par.

The Vikings and Tigers will be back in action on March 26th when they travel to Killeen's Stonetree Golf Course for the start of the District 13-5A tournament.
