Aggie Women To Host Hoops Watch Party

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The 2007 Big 12 champion Texas A&M women’s basketball team (24-6) and 12th Man Foundation will host an NCAA Selection Show Watch Party on Monday, March 12 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Above the Rim Club room located on the third floor of Reed Arena.

Join Texas A&M head coach Gary Blair and his coaching staff and players for Selection Monday as the field of 64 teams for the 2007 Division I Women’s Basketball Championship will be announced live on ESPN at 7 p.m. (CT). Fans of all ages are encouraged to attend the event. Dress is casual and light snacks will be provided by the 12th Man Foundation.

Last season, the nationally-ranked Aggies made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 10 years. It marked the program’s third all-time appearance after receiving an at-large bid in 1994 (NCAA Sweet 16) and an automatic bid in 1996 (NCAA First Round). A&M was seeded a program-best No. 6 in the 2006 Cleveland Regional and drew TCU in the NCAA First and Second Rounds in Trenton, N.J. They were seeded No. 13 in the 1994 West Regional and No. 7 in the 1996 West Regional.

NCAA regional sites this year include Dallas, Fresno, Calif., Greensboro, N.C. and Dayton, Ohio. First-and second-round sites include Austin, Minneapolis, Stanford, Los Angeles, East Lansing, Mich., Hartford, Conn., Pittsburgh and Raleigh, N.C.
