Aggie Men Finish Seventh At Las Vegas Golf Tourney

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- No. 10-ranked Texas A&M closed with a final-round 302 on Sunday and finished seventh at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship at Southern Highlands Golf Course.

No. 13 UCLA won the title with a 54-hole total of 874, edging No. 6 Georgia (877) by three strokes. Arizona placed third at 885, followed by No. 9 UNLV (886), Minnesota (888), No. 4 Oklahoma State (891), A&M (894), No. 7 Clemson (896), No. 17 Georgia Tech (896), No. 3 Florida (898), No. 18 Arizona State (901), Washington (902), No. 20 Texas (904), No. 19 Wake Forest (914) and Kentucky (917).

UCLA's Lucas Lee captured individual honors with a three-under-par total of 69-72-72=213. Kentucky's Alex Volpenheim was one shot back at 70-75-69=214.

A&M was led by junior Martin Piller (67-74-78=219) and sophomore Bronson Burgoon (75-71-73=219), who tied for 10th. Junior Trey Todd (75-81-75=231) tied for 53rd, while senior Chris Massoletti (76-80-76=232) and freshman Andrew Pavan (78-74-80=232) tied for 56th.
