COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M senior Acie Law IV has been named to The Sporting News first-team All-America squad, the magazine announced on Monday.

Last week, Law was named first-team All-America by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), ESPN.com and SI.com.

Law is averaging 17.9 points and 5.3 assists this season, leading the Aggies to a 25-6 record and a top-10 national ranking. No. 3-seeded A&M begins NCAA Tournament play on Thursday against Penn in Lexington, Ky.

The Sporting News and NABC teams are two of the four teams used by the NCAA to determine consensus All-America status. The other two teams, voted on by The Associated Press and the United States Basketball Writers Association, will be announced later this month.

The March 19th issue of the Sporting News hits newsstands March 22. The college basketball awards can also be found at www.SportingNews.com.
