Bearkat Softball Sweeps Jackson State

HUNTSVILLE -- Mandy Collier went 3-for-5 at the plate with five RBIs and two doubles and Sarah Parich hit a two-run home run to lead Sam Houston State to a non-conference softball doubleheader sweep of Jackson State Monday as the Bearkats won 7-1 and 6-1.

Brandi Crnkovic (4-5) allowed three hits in seven innings, striking out 13
Tiger batters to earn the victory in the first game. Morgan Mikulin (7-7)
spread six hits over seven innings and struck out five batters for the win in the nightcap.

Sam Houston State (11-12) totaled 18 hits in the two games. Tanya Hooser and Ashley Nelson each had a double in the second game.

The Bearkats will play their first Southland Conference home series Saturday and Sunday when Sam Houston State plays host to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
The series begins at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Bearkat Softball
Complex.
