HUNTSVILLE -- Sam Houston State didn't drop a set as the Bearkats swept through Central Arkansas for a 7-0 Southland Conference women's tennis match Saturday at the McAdams Tennis Center.
The Bearkats upped their season mark to 7-3 and stand 4-1 in Southland Conference action.
Lata Assudani, who celebrated her 22nd birthday Saturday, paired with Irina Sotnikova to win 8-0 at number one doubles and won at number two singles 6-1 6-1.
Patricia Manzur, sidelined the past month with a shoulder injury, returned to action teaming with Lauren Janak for a victory at number three doubles. Brooke Mills and Peta Taylor combined to win at number two to give the Bearkats the doubles point.
"It was good to see the girls come out and get the job done," Sam Houston head coach Jim Giachino said. "We had a tough loss at Texas-San Antonio last week on the road and the team was ready to get back on the winning track. We face another difficult opponent Sunday morning in Northwestern State."
The Bearkats face the Demons at 10 a.m. Sunday at McAdams.
