BRYAN -- Sources in both Texas and Arkansas claim that Texas A&M's Billy Gillispie has turned down the Razorbacks offer to become their new men's basketball coach.

Gillispie's decision comes on the eve of an A&M board of regents meeting where is current contract is among many items to be discussed during the two days of meetings in College Station.

There are reports that Gillispie's new deal could top 2-million dollars a season and run through 2012.

Former Texas A&M head football coach Gene Stallings, who currently serves on the Texas A&M Board of Regents told KBTX this afternoon on the phone, "I don't have a problem giving a coach extra money for a job well done, and Billy did an excellent job this year. In fact, I liked the way his team played. But I'm against renegotiating a coach's contract after every season."

Billy Clyde left for the Final 4 today in Atlanta, Georgia, along with Acie Law and Marlon Pompey.

The two Aggie players will participate tomorrow in the 19th Annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & Three Point Championships which will air on ESPN at 8.
