A&M Travels To Lubbock For Big 12 Series

COLLEGE STATION -- The 13th-ranked Texas A&M baseball team will travel to Lubbock this week for a three-game Big 12 series against Texas Tech. The series will be played Thursday through Saturday at Dan Law Field.

A&M rans its overall record to 26-6 with a convincing 9-4 over Texas State Tuesday night at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. The Aggies moved to 5-4 in Big 12 play last weekend, winning two of three games over Nebraska at Olsen Field.

Texas Tech did not play a midweek game and dropped to 20-12 overall and to 4-5 in Big 12 action after losing two of three at Kansas State last weekend.

A&M leads the all-time series against Texas Tech, 84-49. The A&M and TTU series dates back to 1929. Since the formation of the Big 12 Conference in 1997, the series is tied, 17-17.

The Aggies are 11-4 against the Red Raiders at Olsen Field, but have a record of 4-10 in Lubbock.

TICKETS

Tickets to all Texas A&M home games can be purchased by calling the Texas A&M Athletic Ticket Office at (979) 845-2311 or (888) 99-AGGIE. Fans may also purchase tickets online at 12thmanfoundation.com. The gates at Olsen Field open one hour prior to first pitch for all games.

RADIO

All Texas A&M baseball games will be broadcast live on WTAW AM-1620. Dave South, The Voice of the Aggies, will call the action and will be assisted throughout the season by Tom Turbiville, Chuck Glenewinkel, Scott Clendenin, and Gabe Bock. The pre-game show will begin 15 minutes prior to the start of each game.

Fans who are unable to attend Texas A&M’s home games can watch them live on the internet. Aggie All Access will provide a live video and audio stream of all 32 of the Aggies’ home games in 2006. Last Time Out: Newmann struggled with command and lasted 5 1/3 inings in the Aggies’ Friday loss to Nebraska. He allowed six runs on four hits. He walked three and struck out five.

Against Texas Tech: Newmann has never pitched against Texas Tech.

Matt Ueckert - Senior - LHP

1-0, 0.00 ERA, 3 App., 0 GS, 8.2.0 IP, 9 H, 0 BB, 4 K, .257 Opp. BA

Last Time Out: Earned the win by throwing five innings out of the bullpen in A&M’s Saturday win over Nebraska. He entered the game in the first and allowed two unearnd runs on seven hits. He struck out two.

Against Texas Tech: Ueckert had two appearances out of the bullpen against the Red Raiders last year, but only threw 1/3 on an inning. He allowed two runs on two hits.

GAME 3

Scott Migl - Freshman - RHP

Last Time Out: Migl did not earn a decision in his first Big 12 start in Sunday’s game against Nebraska. He lasted four innings and allowed three runs - one earned - on six hits.
