BRENHAM -- The Blinn softball team swept a conference doubleheader from visiting Alvin Wednesday afternoon at Blinn Field at Hohlt Park. The Lady Bucs won the first game 3-1 in a game that wasn't as close as the score indicated and then held on for a 5-4 win in the nightcap.

In what has been an uncharacteristic and injury plagued season for Blinn, the wins improve them to 6-10 in conference play and back in contention for a spot in the region tournament next month. Blinn now has a week off for the Easter holidays before resuming conference play next Wednesday in Galveston.
