HARKER HEIGHTS -- What's your favorite holiday? Well if you ask a kid, you're probably going to hear them say Christmas. If you ask A&M Offensive Lineman Michael Shumard. You're going to get Halloween. It sounds odd, but for the 305 pound senior from Harker Heights High School in Killeen, will tell ya he takes no short cuts when it comes to celebrating All Hallows Eve.

Last week Shumard announced during the A&M football team's media day that he was going to dress up as Shrek. He claimed he was going to shave his head, put on green body paint and that he had made Shrek ears to glue on his head.

Michael didn't disappoint! He pulled it off and didn't care if the costume came with a little post Fright Night pain. "I super glued on my ears," said Shumard.

"I'm not the kind of guy to say I'm going to dress up for Halloween and then put in some fang teeth and throw blood all over the place and call it dressing up."

"Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I go all out," claimed Shumard.

He made a pretty good Shrek and must have felt like he had the paparazzi following him around all night. "I took a lot of pictures and not because I was an Aggie football player. Everybody wanted to have their picture taken with Shrek. I poised with a lot of people I didn't know," ended Shumard.

Shumard and the Aggies would like to strike a poise in a bowl game team photo sometime in the next six to eight weeks and just might be able to do that if they can pick up their sixth win of the year over the final four games of the regular season.

Texas A&M's first opportunity will come on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 Central when they travel to Boulder, Colorado, to take on the Buffaloes.

The game will be broadcast live on Fox College Sports (DirecTV 617).
