MANHATTAN, Kan, -- As rumors about Bob Huggins' future as
Kansas State basketball coach intensify, the university has called
a news conference this afternoon to address the speculation.
Two newspapers, one in Kansas and one in West Virginia, along
with at least one national sports Web site, are reporting that
Huggins will leave Kansas State for his alma mater. The media
outlets are reporting an announcement could be made as early as
Huggins' cell phone isn't taking new messages, and agent Richard
Katz wasn't talking today. Huggins has said nothing publicly since John Beilein announced Tuesday that he was leaving West Virginia to become Michigan's coach.
Huggins was born in West Virginia, and has often said coaching
there would be his dream job.
If Huggins decides to leave, his five-year contract states that
he must pay the university 100-thousand dollars.
