COLLEGE STATION -- Wichita State men's head basketball coach Mark Turgeon along with his wife, Ann, took a 30-minute tour of A&M's Reed Arena Monday afternoon.

Turgeon and his wife were escorted into the arena by Director of Athletics Bill Byrne, and Senior Associate Director for Student Development John Thornton.

KBTX Sports was not permitted to be inside the arena when the Turgeons arrived, but before they were rushed out did see the Reed Arena ribbon boards displaying the phrase "Welcome to Aggieland Mark and Ann Turgeon."

Turgeon is rumored to be the top choice to replace Billy Gillispie who left the Aggies on Friday to become the head coach at Kentucky.

Turgeon has been the head coach at Wichita State the last 7 years posting a 17-14 record this year. The Shockers were ranked as high as 8th in the country this season after a 9-0 start.
