AUSTIN -- University of Texas freshman Kevin Durant is done
with college -- and heading for the N-B-A draft.
The 18-year-old Associated Press Player of the Year today
confirms he's leaving the Longhorns.
Durant, in a statement before an Austin news conference, said
he's enjoyed his year at Texas.
He says all the fans made him feel right at home -- and that
he'll "always be a Longhorn."
Durant had an All-American season in which he swept the major
player of the year awards.
Now the question is whether he'll be the first pick of the June
28th draft.
A-P reports Durant and Ohio State's freshman center Greg Oden -who hasn't yet said if he'll leave college - are
considered the likely first two picks
