COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M soccer signee Rachel Shipley and the Plano West soccer team will take on Flower Mound Marcus in the Class 5A State Semifinal game at 1 p.m. at the Round Rock ISD Athletic Complex in Round Rock, Texas on Friday.

Shipley who was recently named the Dallas Morning News SportsDay Girls’ Soccer Player of the Week, has 18 goals and a team-leading 19 assists heading into this weekend’s matches.

In the Class 5A Region II finals, Shipley scored two goals, including the game-winner with 7:08 left in the second half to lift Plano West past Allen, 2-1.

The four-year starting forward was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s National High School Scholar Athlete of the Year. Shipley was also named to the NSCAA All-American team.
