TEMPE, AZ -- The No. 10-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team will close its regular season schedule at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational Friday through Sunday at ASU's Karsten Golf Course.
The tournament will consist of 18 holes each day on the par-72, 7,026-yard course. The Big 12 Championship is April 23-24 in Hutchinson, Kan.
In addition to A&M, the 18 team field includes No. 4 Southern California,
No. 6 UNLV, No. 18 Arizona State, Arizona State "Maroon", Arizona, Baylor, California, Central Florida, Colorado State, Fresno State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oregon, New Mexico, San Diego State, Texas Tech and the Nordic Team.
Representing the Aggies will be Bronson Burgoon, Martin Piller, Bobby Gates, Austin Schauer and Chris Massoletti.
A&M is coming off a fifth-place finish at the National Invitational
Tournament earlier this month in Tucson, Ariz.
"This is our last chance to prepare our team for the postseason and we are excited to head back to Arizona to compete against another outstanding field of teams," A&M Coach J.T. Higgins said. "ASU course requires a team to go low to have a chance to win, so we really need to get to the point where we are comfortable posting low scores. Most importantly, we just need to keep getting better and use this as a good opportunity to prepare for the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments."
