COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M centerfielder Sharonda McDonald was named a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American in recognition of her achievement in the development of improved athletic performance through total conditioning.

“Sharonda is ready for her best year yet,” A&M strength and conditioning coach Raychelle Ellsworth said. “She has totally recovered from her ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tear to put up her most impressive numbers yet in the weight room. Sharonda is one of those rare athletes who can accomplish anything once she sets her mind to it.”

The senior speedster has set Aggie softball records for most stolen bases (146), most runs (175) and longest hitting streak (21). McDonald, a three-time All-Big 12 honoree, is currently hitting .350 this season with 30 stolen bases and 40 runs scored.
