COLLEGE STATION -- Alex Reynolds, a freshman infielder on the Texas A&M softball team earned Big 12 Player of the Week accolades, the conference office announced today. It was Reynolds first career Big 12 honor.

“I am very excited for Alex,” A&M head coach Jo Evans said. “I am proud of the way she stepped up this past weekend. Alex has had her struggles and she’s worked so hard to finally get comfortable at the plate. It’s nice to see her hard work pay off and be recognized.”

Reynolds compiled a .714 batting average at the plate with four RBIs while also drawing a walk in three Aggie victories last week. The Tomball, Texas native also notched her first collegiate home run in a 13-0 win over Kansas on Sunday.
