WACO -- No. 14-ranked Texas A&M carded a 315 in cold, rainy conditions on Tuesday and slipped to second place after the second round of the Big 12 Women's Golf Championship at Ridgewood Country Club.

No. 11 Oklahoma State posted the day's best round with a 303 to take a
four-shot lead over the defending champion Aggies with a 611 total. A&M is at 615, followed by Baylor (619), Nebraska (619), Kansas (626), Oklahoma (629), Kansas State (630), Texas Tech (630), Colorado (632), Missouri (633), Iowa State (646) and Texas (647).

"Conditions today were tough and we didn't handle it very well," A&M Coach Jeanne Sutherland said. "I told the players after the round not to spend any time worrying about this round, but to get ready for tomorrow. We're right about where we were last year and have a great opportunity to go out, play some great golf and win another championship."

The Aggies trailed Oklahoma State by three strokes after two rounds last year in Lincoln, Neb., but closed with a 304 to win by a tournament record 11 strokes.

Kansas Amanda Coster leads the individual standings by seven strokes at 71-73=144. A&M seniors Ashley Knoll (74-79=153) and Christa Spedding (72-81=153) are tied for fifth.

A&M freshmen Ashley Freeman (77-78=155) and Danielle McVeigh (78-77=155) are tied for 15th, while sophomore Lauren Johnson (77-81=158) is tied for 28th.
