Gordon Wins At Phoenix, Finally

AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Jeff Gordon is a winner for the first
time in Phoenix. Gordon won the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix
International Raceway for his 76th career win, and first since last
July.
The 35-year-old Gordon, who broke into the NASCAR circuit 15
years ago, is now tied with the late Dale Earnhardt for sixth on
the all-time victory list. Gordon leads the driver standings. He
has a 74-point lead over Jeff Burton after eight races this season.
Tony Stewart finished second, followed by Denny Hamlin, Jimmie
Johnson and Matt Kenseth. Both Johnson and Kenseth recorded their
fifth top-five finish this season.
Chevy cars finished eight of the top ten positions.
