The Blinn Lady Buc softball team kept its slim playoff hopes alive with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Lamar State College on Sunday afternoon at Hohlt Park.

In the first game, Alis Shaffer threw a perfect game to lead Blinn to a 4-0 victory. In the secong game, Blinn jumped on the Seahawks early and then exploded for a 7-run fourth inning to win the game 12-0 by run rule in five innings.

With the sweep, Blinn improves to 22-34 overall adn 11-15 in conference play with a doubleheader remaining at conference-leading San Jacinto Wednesday afternoon.

In between games, Blinn recognized their nine sophomore players in Sophomore Day ceremonies. Those honored were: Samantha Aguilar, Amanda Brown, Mara Heidemann, Elise Kriske, Priscilla Pompa, Alis Shaffer, Tami Sutton, Jamie Williams and Michelle Zacek.
