COLLEGE STATION -- For the second time this season, Texas A&M softball player Amanda Scarborough has been named the Big 12’s Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced today.
“I’m excited for Amanda,” A&M head coach Jo Evans said. “She has worked really hard this season. She’s got a lot of confidence on the mound and has been in total control for the majority of her outings. She’s been doing a great job of mixing up her pitches and keeping opposing hitters off balance.”
Scarborough (19-4) posted two wins in the circle for the Aggies this past week, beating Oklahoma State 4-0 on Wednesday and Missouri 7-0 on Sunday. The junior from Magnolia, Texas worked 14 innings, giving up just three hits, no walks and striking out 12 batters.
Scarborough has a 0.97 ERA on the season. In 151.1 innings pitched, she has struck out 161 hitters. Scarborough has not allowed a run to cross the plate in 30.1 innings.
