PFLUGERVILLE -- The A&M Consolidated Lady Tiger softball team scored a run in the top of the 7th inning to break a scoreless tie against Pflugerville on Thursday in the opening game of their bi-district playoff series with Panthers. The problem was that they saw the home team answer with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning to win the opener of the best of 3 series 2 to 1.
Consol Head Coach Billy Hicks said his Tiger team banged out 9 hits on the night, but left to many players in scoring position. Pflugerville was only able to collect 3 hits off the Tiger pitching staff but made the most of it with a pair of runs.
The series switches to Tiger Field on Friday at 7:30. A&M Consolidated will have to win that game to force a 3rd and decisive game on Saturday back in Pflugerville.
Coach Hicks feels confident that his Tigers will even the series Friday night at home and says he'll take a different route on Saturday.
