Errors Doom SHSU Baseball Team

Back to back sacrifice flies by Trent Lockwood and Ryan Saltzgaber gave Texas-San Antonio an 8-6 victory over Sam Houston State in the second game of a Southland Conference series Saturday at Don Sanders Stadium.

UTSA also won the first game Friday 4-2.

Seven of UTSA's eight runs were unearned as the Bearkats committed five errors including three in the Roadrunners' five-run third inning.

Clint Mann's two-run single sparked a three-run second inning for Sam
Houston as the Bearkats jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Texas-San Antonio build a 6-3 lead before the Bearkats scored three in the sixth to tie the game 6-6. Karl Krailo, Austin Boggs, and Heath Pugh all had run-scoring singles in the sixth.

J. T. Mackey (6-2) was the winning pitcher in relief. Luke Prihoda (2-3) got the loss. Texas-San Antonio now stands 26-18 for the season and 16-5 in SLC action. Sam Houston fell to 27-18 and 11-9 in SLC action
