HOUSTON (AP) - Roy Oswalt worked eight solid innings and Hunter Pence got his first career R-B-I as Houston topped Cincinnati 3-to-1.
Oswalt limited the Reds to a run and four hits to move to
4-and-2. He had a no-hitter until Adam Dunn homered in the fifth
inning.
Pence hit an R-B-I triple in the first before scoring on Lance
Berkman's single. Pence was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on
Friday to boost the team's offense.
Craig Biggio added an R-B-I single in the sixth to help the
Astros win for only the third time in 12 games.
Dan Wheeler pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save.
The loss goes to 1-and-2 Kyle Lohse (lohsh), who was reached for
three runs and eight hits in six innings.
