Viking Gymnastics Finishes 2nd At State

SAN ANGELO -- The Bryan Viking Gymnastics Team finishes 2nd at the 41st Texas HS State Gymnastics Championships scoring 336.85. LD Bell won the meet with 337.575 and Odessa Permian was 3rd with a score of 334.95.

Individually, the Vikings will be sending six boys into event finals.
Isaac Rodriguez was the leading scorer for Bryan which was good enough for fourth place in the All-Around. He will compete in finals on Still Rings (currently in 2nd), Vault (8th) and the Parallel Bars (5th).

Alex Reyes will compete in finals on Floor Exercise (4th).

Eddie Vargas made finals on three events and is the leader on Floor Exercise going into Saturday's finals as well as making finals on Parallel Bars (10th) and Pommel Horse (4th).

Victor Benavides is in 3rd place going into Ring finals.

Chris Martinez and Matthew Kelly also made Pommel Horse finals sitting in 8th and 5th respectively.
