RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Jimmie Johnson led teammate Kyle Busch to a one-two finish at Richmond International Raceway. It's the third
consecutive Nextel Cup victory for Hendrick Motorsports -- a team
that has won seven of the past eight Cup events and swept all four
races in which NASCAR has used its new Car of Tomorrow.
It looked for awhile as if Hendrick would finish one-two-three,
with Johnson, Busch and pole-sitter Jeff Gordon battling for the
lead. But Gordon faded over the final 15 laps and gave up third
place to Denny Hamlin.
Gordon, the series points leader who was coming off back-to-back
victories, settled for fourth.
Johnson, the defending Nextel Cup champion, wins for the fourth
time this season.
