Everitt, Collier Lead SHSU All-Conference Selections

By  |

Sophomore catcher Casie Everitt and junior designated player Mandy Collier are first team selections for Sam Houston State on the 2007 All-Southland Conference softball team.

Six other Bearkats have been named to the honor squad after teaming to lead Sam Houston State to a 33-23 season record and a Southland runner-up finish with a 20-10 league mark. The 33 victories are the most in one season for SHSU since the 1993 Southland championship season.

Second team All-SLC selections for the Kats are junior shortstop Tanya
Hooser, senior outfielder Stephanie Mosley, freshman outfielder Lauren
Burns, sophomore pitcher Brandi Crnkovic, and freshman pitcher Morgan Mikulin.

Burns also was a third team selection at second base. Bearkat third baseman Sarah Parich has been named honorable mention All-Southland.
