Texas Wary Of Aggies' Potential For Upset, Martellus Bennett Predicts 24-17 A&M Win

COLLEGE STATION -- Texas has taken control of its annual series with Oklahoma, gone 15-3 against ranked opponents since 2005 and won its last five bowl games.
But Texas A&M has been a troublesome opponent for Mack Brown's Longhorns. The Aggies have twice upset heavily favored Texas in the last three seasons. The wins have highlighted an otherwise forgettable decade for A&M, which hasn't finished a season in the Top 25 since 1999.
The arch rivals meet again tomorrow night at Kyle Field in
College Station. If Texas A&M (6-5, 3-4 Big 12) can pull off
another shocker, it'll probably cost No. 3 Texas (11-0, 7-0) a shot
at the national title and cripple Colt McCoy's chances of winning
the Heisman Trophy.
Texas handled last year's meeting just fine, routing the Aggies
and new coach Mike Sherman 49-9 in Austin. But two years ago in
College Station, A&M delivered its most inspired performance of the
season and knocked off the 13th-ranked Longhorns 38-30. In 2006,
the Aggies toughed out an equally unexpected 12-7 win in Austin.
There are several Aggies and Longhorns playing for the Dallas Cowboys now and this year's annual showdown was a topic of discussion at Valley Ranch.
Former Texas A&M tight end Martellus Bennett, said he has pushed his A&M stuff to the back of his locker after last year's 49-9 loss and tough season (6-5) this year. He understands why former Texas wide receiver has all of his Longhorn stuff prominently displayed in his locker though.
Texas is unbeaten on the season (11-0) and ranked 3rd in the country.
But that doesn't mean Marty doubts that his Aggies can win the game.
"I predict a 24-17 Aggie win," said Martellus. When ask how it will happen.
"Jerrod Johnson is going to hit Jeff Fuller on a 60 yard touchdown strike late in the game to win it," ended Marty.
Kickoff is set for Thursday at 7pm on ESPN.
KBTX's award winning Aggie Game Day Show presented by Pizza Hut.com will air from 5 to 6pm live from the Aggie Fan Zone on the CW - Texas digital channel 3.2 (Suddenlink Cable Channel 8) as well as streamed live at KBTX.com.
