Sam Houston State 's Jessica Fisher has been named as 2007 Southland Conference Outstanding Outdoor Track and Field Women's Performer and as Southland Outdoor Track and Field Women's Freshman of the Year.
The Houston sprinter won the 100- and 200-meter dashes in a pair of regional qualifying times.
She held on to the end to capture the SLC 100 title in a time of 11.56 seconds, before coming back later to take the 200 in 23.54. Fisher also teamed up with Tiana Lee, Tara Tyler and Regina Offord to place second in the 4x100 relay with a regional qualifying mark of 45.61 seconds.
Fisher also was Southland Indoor Track and Field women's "Freshman of the Year."
