HUNTSVILLE -- DeLuis Ramirez, a 6-4, 205 pound junior college guard from Odessa College, has signed a letter of intent to play men's basketball for Sam Houston State and head coach Bob Marlin.

Ramirez avcraged 11.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game for Odessa's 20-10 squad last year. As a high school player at Northwest Christian in Miami, FL, he averaged 20.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on teams that compiled an 87-12 record during his career.

"DeLuis is a winner," Marlin said. "He comes from great high school and
junior college programs. He is strong and versatile. We are excited to
have him join our program."
