Heavy rain forces postponement of Big 12 Tournament start

(NOTE: All times are CENTRAL)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Today's first-round games of the Big 12
Softball Championship in Oklahoma City have been postponed --
because of heavy rain.

Games between Oklahoma State and Texas Tech and Kansas and Iowa State were set to begin at 5 p.m. -- then thunderstorms began moving through the area.

As a result, the Jayhawks will now open the tournament with its
game against Iowa State at 11 a.m. tomorrow, followed by the Texas
Tech-Oklahoma State game at 11:30 a.m.

Missouri will play Texas at 1:30 p-m, and Nebraska and Texas
A&M will meet at 2 p.m.

The winner of the Kansas-Iowa State game will play Oklahoma and
the O-S-U/Texas Tech game winner will play Baylor.

The semifinals begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the winners of
those games playing for the conference title at 3 p.m.
