COLLEGE STATION -- The No. 9 Texas A&M baseball team will host McNeese State in its final non-conference game of the regular season Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. at Olsen Field.
The game is a make-up of the final game of the Texas Tech series that was cancelled because of snow.
After winning two of three games from Kansas State in Manhattan last weekend, the Aggies enter the midweek game with a record of 40-12 overall and are in fourth place in the Big 12 at 13-10.
The Aggies moved up two spots to No. 11 in the Baseball America Magazine top 25 and from No. 12 to No. 9 in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25.
McNeese State dropped two of three games to Southland Conference foe Texas State last weekend to fall to 20-30 overall. The Cowboys are 16-10 in the league and have won 18 of their last 25 contests after starting the year 2-23.
Freshman right-hander Clayton Ehlert will start on the mound for Texas A&M, which will be looking for its 30th win at Olsen Field this year. Ehlert is 1-0 with a 4.60 ERA in 15 2/3 innings of work. He has 11 strikeouts and opponents are hitting him at a .266 clip.
McNeese State is expected to counter with righty Sam English, who has 17 appearances and eight starts this year. He is 3-4 with an ERA of 5.02 in 57 1/3 innings.
Texas A&M owns the all-time series advantage, 22-5-0, and the Aggies defeated the Cowboys, 5-2, on February 13.
