COLLEGE STATION -- The Texas A&M Athletic Department received notice for its success in overall athletic performance as sioncampus.com ranked the Aggies the 13th best program in the nation in the website’s year-end All-Sport Rankings.

The poll, which takes into account men’s and women’s tennis, lacrosse, cross country, soccer, basketball, water polo, volleyball, hockey, softball, baseball and football is calculated according to Top 25 rankings (a No. 1 ranking receives 25 points, a No. 25 ranking receives 1 point, etc.) Football and basketball are weighted slightly heavier as a No. 1 ranking is worth 50 points and a No. 25 ranking is worth 25 points.

Scoring big for the Aggies was the women’s soccer team who finished the year ranked No. 5 in the country, as well as the men’s and women’s basketball teams who finished their seasons ranked No. 9 and No. 16 respectively. Texas A&M is also currently ranked No. 9 nationally in baseball and No. 7 nationally in softball.
