LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Two new basketball recruits have enrolled
at the University of Kansas.
Kansas coach Bill Self says six-foot-four guard Conner Teahan of
Kansas City and six-three guard Chase Buford of San Antonio, Texas,
will be invited as walk-ons for the fall season.
They are joining the rest of the team for summer classes next
Teahan won the Mister Show-Me Award from the Missouri Coaches
Association this season and was the Missouri Gatorade player of the
year as a junior and senior. He averaged 25 points and eight
rebounds a game at Kansas City Rockhurst High School.
Buford averaged nine points and about three assists as a junior.
He missed his senior season because of illness. He's the son of
former Kansas assistant and current San Antonio Spurs general
manager R-C Buford who played college basketball at Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.
Other new K-U recruits are six-foot-ten center Cole Aldrich from
Bloomington, Minnesota, and six-three guard Tyrel Reed from
Aldrich is a McDonald's All-American and the Minnesota player of
the year, and Reed was named Mister Kansas by the Kansas Basketball
Coaches Association this season.
