Sacramento, Calif. – Texas A&M advanced seven additional athletes in individual events to the NCAA Track & Field Championships based on season performances when the NCAA committee released the final qualifiers after regional meets took place this past weekend.
Joining the 10 A&M automatic individual qualifiers, along with three Aggie relays, in Sacramento, California, are Porscha Lucas (100, 200), Elizabeth Adeoti (100), Katie Baker (400), Justin Oliver (400), Yasmine Regis (triple jump), Michelle Inocencio (javelin), and Jessica Wingfield (javelin). An automatic qualifier in the triple jump, Ashika Charan was also added to the long jump field.
Including alternates for the relay events the Aggie group will number 24 athletes for 17 events at the national meet – 15 women for 12 events and nine men for five events.
The NCAA Championships will take place from Wednesday, June 6 to Saturday, June 9 at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State. Live television coverage of the meet will be offered by CSTV on Friday, June 8 from 7 to 10 p.m. and on CBS from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
