COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- Texas A&M junior Josh Carter and incoming freshman DeAndre Jordan will be competing for spots on two USA Basketball squads that will compete internationally this summer.

Carter is among the 30 college players who will participate in the USA
Basketball Men's Pan American Games Team Trials July 12-14 at Haverford College (Pa.). The top 12 players will represent the United States at the Pam American Games July 25-29 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Carter led the nation in three-point field goal accuracy last season, making 50.0 percent and averaging 11.8 points per game. He was an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection by the league's coaches.

Other Big 12 players competing are Kansas' Sherron Collins and Mario
Chalmers.

Jordan is among the 20 players 19 years old and under selected to
participate in the USA Basketball Men's U19 World Championship Team Trials June 28-20 at the Dallas Mavericks' practice facility. The top 12 players will comprise the American team at the FIBA U19 World Championship July 12-22 in Novi Sad, Serbia.

A Parade All-American, Jordan is rated as the 8th-best prep prospect in the nation and the best in Texas by Rivals.com. He was named to the All-Greater Houston first-team after averaging 26 points, 15 rebounds and 8 blocked shots as a senior.

Other Big 12 players participating are Kansas' Darrell Arthur and Kansas State's Michael Beasley.
