DENVER (AP) - Brad Hawpe, Kaz Matsui and Matt Holliday led Colorado's 8-to-7 win over the visiting Houston Astros.
Hawpe hit a tiebreaking two-run triple in the seventh inning
before scoring on Yorvit Torrealba's single.
Matsui went 2-for-4 with two R-B-Is, including a solo homer that
knotted the score 5-to-5.
Holliday added three hits and an R-B-I while continuing his
success against losing pitcher Woody Williams. Holliday is
11-for-14 with six R-B-Is against Williams, who allowed six runs in
six-plus innings to fall to 2-and-8.
Williams was ejected when he hit Holliday one pitch after
serving up Matsui's homer.
Taylor Buccholz worked a scoreless seventh to even his mark at
3-and-3. Brian Fuentes gave up a solo homer to Morgan Ensberg in
the ninth before nailing down his 17th save.
