Owls Prevail In Extra Innings, One Win Away From Eliminating Aggies At Houston Regional

HOUSTON -- Rice rallied with a run in the bottom of the ninth and one more in the 10th to defeat Texas A&M 3 to 2 in the Houston Super Regional tonight before 5074, the fourth largest crowd in the history of Reckling Park.

The Aggies scored a single run in the 2nd inning on Luke Anders single down the right field line scoring Blake Stouffer. Texas A&M added a 2nd run in the 3rd on Brandon Hicks double down the line in left scoring Kyle Colligan.

Kyle Nicholson came on in relief of starter David Neumann and gives up the tying run in the ninth on Diego Seastrunk's RBI bloop single to center scoring Jordon Dodson.

In the tenth, Dodson singles in Danny Lehmann with the winning run. Rice will host game 2 of the Houston Super Regional tomorrow evening at 5 on ESPN-U. A win by the Owls will send Rice back to the College World Series for the 6th time in school history.
