Lady Rattlers Claim Sealy Title
The Navasota girls' basketball team picked up some more hardware over the weekend.

History repeated itself this weekend as the Navasota Rattler girl's varsity basketball team won the 4th Annual Sealy Tiger Invitational. It was the Big Blue's second consecutive title of the Sealy Tournamant and their 3rd in the events 4 year history.
On Thursday, Navasota defeated Bellville 88-22 and Schulenburg 60-34 to reach the semi finals. On Friday night, the Rattlers beat Smithville 53-40 behind Destiny Dickson and Shay Oaks double-doubles. The pair of senior post players scored 11 and 10 points respectively and pulled down 10 and 22 rebounds each.
In the championship game on Saturday, it was ALL Navasota. The Big Blue scored the games first 12 points enroute to a 66-28 win over Moulton. The Rattlers were paced by Dickson's 13 points and 12 rebounds and Vanesha Wilcox's 10 points and 12 steals.
Navasota senior team captain Shay Oaks was named the tournament Most Valuable Player while Raven Palmer and Vanesha Wilcox were named to the All Tournament team.
The 4 wins extends the Rattler's winning streak to 16 games and improves their season record to 16-1.
