CHICAGO (AP) - Lance Berkman's R-B-I single in the top of the
ninth gave the Houston Astros their first two-game winning streak
since mid-May by beating the reeling Chicago White Sox 3-to-2. The
White Sox have lost 12 of 14.
Adam Everett singled to lead off the ninth against Bobby Jenks,
who is 2-and-2 with the loss. He moved to third on a one-out single
by Mark Loretta and scored on Berkman's opposite-field single.
Chicago's Jim Thome hit a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at 2-2.
Chad Qualls is 5-and-3 with the win.
