COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M men’s tennis All-American Austin Krajicek was one of six top American collegians who led the United States to the team championship title at the fourth annual Master’U BNP Paribas international collegiate tournament held over the weekend in Poitiers, France.

Krajicek, a junior left-hander from Brandon, Fla., defeated Patrick Fischer, 7-6, 6-2, in a 7-0 opening-round victory for the U.S. over Switzerland on Friday. He and American teammate Steve Johnson of defending national champion USC also beat Dorian Descloix and Elie Rousset, 6-4, 6-4, in doubles to help Team USA edge host France, 4-3, in the championship finals on Sunday.

It marked the second time in which Krajicek was selected to participate in international competition during his decorated Aggie career. He was previously selected by Patrick McEnroe to serve as a practice player for the U.S. Davis Cup Team in Madrid, Spain in 2008.

The U.S. men’s team was coached by Boise State head coach Greg Patton and also featured Eric Quigley of Kentucky. Meanwhile, the women’s team was comprised of Irina Falconi of Georgia Tech, Kristy Frilling of Notre Dame and Caitlin Whoriskey of Tennessee.
